IPL 2017: This conversation between Dravid, Pant and Samson is the BEST thing you'll see today

Rahul Dravid has forever been the unsung hero of Indian cricket. Whenever Team India were pushed into a corner, the silent warrior would put his hand up and grind it out for his country.

The 44-year-old continues to be the workhorse of Indian cricket to date. While most of his contemporaries spend their time either commentating, building their careers as administrators, or taking up business ventures, Dravid spends his under the sun – nurturing the next crop of match-winners for the country.

Two special youngsters under this wings are Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson. Both batsmen play for Delhi Daredevils (DD), coached by Dravid, in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

On Thursday, both Pant and Samson showed the world just what they’re capable of when they absolutely destroyed Gujarat Lions’ bowlers at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

The talented duo put on a mammoth 143-run stand for the second wicket to give DD a much-needed win in IPL 2017. While Samson smashed 61 off 31 balls, Pant was even more belligerent during his 43-ball 97. Together, they hit 16 sixes and six fours during their epic partnership.

Now, there is no doubt in the fact that some of the credit for Pant and Samson’s success has to go to Dravid – the former India captain has even coached them in junior cricket – one wonders just how much of an influence he has actually had on the duo’s batting. After all, Dravid’s style is diametrically opposite to Pant and Samson’s. While the senior pro possessed arguably the most sound technique in the history of the game, the youngsters in question have modelled their game more on the Virender Sehwag school of batting.

Touching upon this point, Dravid was engaged in a hilariously wonderful conversation with Pant and Samson after the match on Thursday. The DD head coach took it upon himself to conduct an interview with the two stars of the match, and the result was an absolute treat.

Here are excerpts from that chat:
Dravid: So boys, I’m glad when you’ll were growing up you’ll actually learned by watching me bat (laughs heartily). I used to bat exactly like that. I’m glad that they didn’t watch too many videos of me batting. Well done boys, terrific innings, super stuff. Chasing 208, what was your conversation in the middle?

Pant: I just told Sanju bhai, if the ball is there to hit, just go for it. Don’t think too much about the next ball. If the next delivery is there to hit, go for it again.

Dravid: That’s a pretty good mind-set! When you’re chasing such a huge total, do you look to target specific bowlers? Though when you’re chasing 208, I think you’re targeting every bowler (laughs). But were there any set plans?

Pant: As I told you sir, we decided to hit a bad ball if we got one. We just planned everything like that only. I kept telling that to Sanju bhai. He was making some plans initially, but once he started middling the ball he told me that he’ll go for everything.

Dravid: Sanju, did you enjoy batting with Rishabh?

Samson: Yea I really enjoyed. I think I started my innings pretty well. After hitting a couple of sixes during the knock when I thought of taking a single, Rishabh came up to me and told me, ‘Bhaiya zyaada socho mat, bas maarte raho (Don’t think too much brother, just keep hitting)’. I think that really helped me.

Dravid: Incredible innings from the two boys, and truly well deserved. But as I am a hard task-master, I hope next time you’ll will finish the job and stay not-out (all laugh).

Parineeti Chopra-Shraddha Kapoor FIGHT over performing EXCLUSIVELY at Justin Bieber concert?

The Justin Bieber concert at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on May 32,has become the talk of the town. Not just the children of Bollywood’s stars are making a beeline for it but it has also given rise to a few controversies including the Arman Malik and Sonakshi Sinha one being the most recent.

Now rumours mills are abuzz that another clash is happening between Shraddha Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. Reportedly, the actresses are clashing over who should perform exclusively at the concert.

Both are singers and are eager to sing the songs of Half Girlfriend and Meri Pyari Bindu res[ectively, along with their co-stars Arjun Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana to promote their films on a larger level yet both want an exclusivity clause – which is the 35-minute slot as the concert schedule is tight and can accommodate only one film.

Recently Parineeti had supported Sonakshi over the stars singing at international concerts.

Not so warm welcome for Trump on his first visit home – Rumour New

US President Donald Trump returned to his hometown on Thursday for the first time since taking office, as many New Yorkers took to the streets to protest the politics of the man who built his name and fortune in the city.

The presidential motorcade passed hundreds of demonstrators as it arrived at the decommissioned aircraft carrier Intrepid in the early evening for a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull hours after it was originally scheduled.

Before leaving Washington, Trump held a hastily arranged White House celebration with fellow Republicans from the U.S. House of Representatives who narrowly passed a healthcare bill that would repeal and replace the 2010 Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.

If anything, Trump’s role in efforts to scrap the signature domestic achievement of his Democratic predecessor, Barack Obama, further incensed the protesters.

Among those on the street were members of the New York State Nurses Association, who chanted: “What do we want? Health care! When do we want it? Now!”

Demonstrators from the Working Families Party spent much of the afternoon rallying and marching near the Intrepid, now a floating museum on Manhattan’s West Side, banging pans, chanting: “Not my president” and carrying signs including one that read: “This village doesn’t want its idiot back!”

Rob Adkins, 33, a professional musician from Brooklyn who is insured through Obamacare, said he was alarmed by the Trump-backed Republican healthcare plan that passed the House.

“It could cost me my health insurance,” he said, echoing the sentiments of several other protesters.

The demonstrations, which included other groups throughout Manhattan, were reminiscent of the weeks after Trump’s Nov. 8 election when frequent protests took place outside his home in the Fifth Avenue tower that bears his name.

The first 100 days since the January 20 inauguration of the businessman-turned-politician brought rollbacks of environmental regulations and crackdowns on immigrants, none of which play well in the liberal Northeast city.

Fewer than one in five residents in the United States’ most populous city voted for Trump, even though he comes from its Queens borough, built a real estate brand and other ventures associated with New York, and has been fodder for its tabloid newspapers for decades.

Providing security for first lady Melania Trump, who has continued to live in Trump Tower while their 11-year-old son Barron finishes the school year, has been a costly obligation for New York.

After security costs for Trump and his family of about $24 million during the transition and $300,000 a day since then, Congress voted last week to reimburse the city and other local governments for $61 million.

Following the events with Turnbull, which include a black-tie dinner on the Intrepid to mark the 75th anniversary of World War Two’s Battle of the Coral Sea, Trump was expected to go to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, for the weekend.

Oops…Anil Kumble made a boo-boo! Well, he wasn’t the only one who got a little too excited by the news of Zaheer Khan’s engagement. Even Delhi Daredevils’ Twitter handle tagged the wrong Sagarika as they wished the cricketer. Zaheer Khan and girlfriend Sagarika Ghatge shocked everyone as they released a picture with her wearing a blinding stone on her ring finger. The good news soon created a storm on Twitter as everyone wished the couple a happy life and congratulated them. With the same intention, even Kumble tweeted his wishes. However, instead of tagging Ghatge, the cricketer tagged senior journalist Sagarika Ghose! Of course, as you may know, Twitter is literally waiting for someone to make a mistake so they can corner them like vultures.

Similar thing happened with Kumble. But luckily, he wasn’t alone in this. Even the Twitter handle of Delhi Daredevil’s tagged the wrong Sagarika, inviting a series of Twitter trolls. While Ghose replied to the tweet saying, “oops wrong Sagarika, sirs! Main do bachche ki ma hoon”, Delhi team’s handle tweeted, “We were so elated by the news that we got carried away. Apologies for the miscommunication. We wish the fine couple a great life ahead.” Well saved, Delhi Daredevils! But irrespective, both Kumble and the team’s handle were trolled by people on social media. In fact, the situation was even compared to the Snapdeal/Snapchat boycott! You can check out how Twitterati had fun over this mistake below!
